If you're looking for a convertible that performs as well as it looks, then the drop-top 3-Series is for you. It's pricey, but it offers status, a superb range of engines and a rewarding drive. What a way to let the neighbours know that you've arrived.
This generation of 3-Series Cabriolet has grown up, but is still one of the best driving machines you can buy and there are still plenty of kicks to be had. Like all BMWs, it's rear-wheel drive, but it's not as tail-happy as previous models. Offers a safe and well-balanced yet still sporting drive, particularly the more potent Sport models.
Rear space isn't too bad for a cabriolet. Rear drive layout eats into rear space leaving rear passengers with acceptable rather than generous leg space. Granny might struggle to get in and out. Don’t even think of carrying more than three passengers in one.
More roomy than it used to be, but rear drive compromises boot capacity somewhat - it's a good effort and very useable space, but there are more accommodating rivals which offer greater load space.
No base model as such, choose between SE or Sport trim levels - these offer the essentials, but there are always options you'll want to add.
